This is one of my favorite paintings from Galleria Borghese in Rome. The author was not familiar to me and I did not even record his name. Regretfully. But maybe you, like me, can just look at the boy holding the lighted candle, step into the past, and try to imagine the world through his eyes. I am fascinated by the sense of peace that the painter encapsulated in this simple scene; a couple hundred years old equivalent of a today’s snapshot.
