Open market in Catania is the place to look at and buy all kinds of food from the sea. Some species were unfamiliar and worth trying if you have the courage and a taste for the original.
Sicily, similarly to Italy, is famous for its cheeses. I have never before seen such cute and funny shapes of some of even the familiar varieties. Can you imagine strolling in the market early in the morning, buying a ball of cheese which shape and name appealed to you, stopping in the bakery for a crusty and still warm bread and eating it with a steaming cup of tea? To me that sounds like the best of breakfasts 🙂
