This dwarf is one of the collection of 300 that “live” in Wroclaw in Poland. Raising a mug of Piast beer, I think he really portrays the Weekly Photo Challenge – Optimistic. 🙂
The first dwarf appeared in Wroclaw in 2001 to commemorate the Orange Alternative, a polish anti-communist movement of which the dwarf was a symbol. Quite possibly this is the only time in the country’s history when a anti-political movement was honored by the official government by placing its emblem in a place of recognition.
The dwarfs became immensely popular, their numbers growing every year and reaching 300 in 2014. For those tourists who want to combine sight-seeing of Wroclaw with tracking the dwarfs, there is a special mobile app.
Life is short. Optimism can make it easier and happier 🙂 Nice capture. Yaz
