One day when the weather was still mellow and warm, I went on a hike on the Appalachian Trail. The trail starts on the side of the mountain and for the first third of the road is just steep enough to be challenging. At this point I was rewarded with the view of the Susquehanna River, which looked like a ribbon placed gently in the valleys between hills.
The trail then circles the mountain but incidentally the river does too so at two thirds of the way, at the lookout point, I saw it again. At this place Susquehanna is spotted with tiny green islands.
From there the trail goes back to the beginning through the airy forest full of sunshine. I will show you what I found on the way in my next post.
