Hinges

They are obviously not ancient old, but they are made to look old enough to catch the eye. The hinges are parts of actual doors to the church. They remind me of huge oak gates that once protected the castles from the invaders. Since in medieval times churches served as the last bastion of protection for the villagers when their homes were attacked by the enemy, it is not surprising that they were built to withstand a military invasion.
